well let's see, she got to that bench because she got hit by a drunk
driver and lost her house whn she was on disability having eye surgery
over that. Then the motel costs were eating her salary. Assuming she
tells the truth, which she seems to have done about everything else --
she told me last night she has a security deposit now.

I don't want to blame the poor on anyone. Amazing how you turn that
around when I explicitly said that sur,e there are people who would
rather get high than have money. You on the othe hand vacillate
between blaming the poor for being poor and wanting to "help" them
realize how ignorant they are.

Both come across as offensively smug and paternalistic.
