I am just flabbergasted that people could espouse this, "hey, it isn't /proven/" argument to downplay what anyone should be able to see pretty plainly. Similar to getting flabbergasted about people downplaying the super-power of code control.
Look, perhaps there is no right answer, etc., ad infinitum, but please, for the love of juan, get what's important. We're destroying a freaking planet. Drive through the at- one-time-tree-laden-hills of Oregon. Look at the heart- breaking swaths of desolation-- listen to people suggest that replacing "old wood" with quick grow fodder is a o k and etc., etc.. This isn't some chicken little type deal-- things are going extinct. Am I the only list member that misses the Dodo? *sniff* I know, I know, cloning, etc.. OUr science will save us. Bah. I for one am super happy the environment is once again "popular". Bring it on, I say. Sure it's cool to be all like "you know, there is no /definitive/ data", for some reason-- perhaps it's independence from the "mainstream"-- I don't know. Save the damn Glaciers, I don't care /why/ they're melting. Build a giant igloo freaking cooler, if that's what it takes. Yes. A giant igloo. That's the ticket.
