I have a Roth IRA through Scottrade. I manage it myself and my IRA grew 14%. Last year was a very good year. I invest in either Exchange Traded Funds or no-load mutual funds.
I max it out every year, except for 2004 when I was purchasing a house. You can put in $4000 this year if single and $8,000 if married. -----Original Message----- From: Deanna Schneider [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 19, 2007 1:40 PM To: CF-Community Subject: Retirement Planning Okay, how many of you are really on it? Do you have a financial advisor? Do you fully fund your IRA? etc, etc. We need to get my husband going on a better IRA plan. (I have multiple things going through work.) I have a friend that works for a stock broker, and she suggested some funds, but the ones she suggested have to be purchased "through your financial advisor." Argh. This is all a different language for me - one where when I ask for a glass of water I'm likely to wind up with a paper hat or something. :) Does anyone use any of the online thingies like ameritrade or etrade or any of those? -d ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Upgrade to Adobe ColdFusion MX7 Experience Flex 2 & MX7 integration & create powerful cross-platform RIAs http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/ Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:228411 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
