was it because the "deductions" are assumed to be kids? :-P That's what I had always thought, but apparently there's other stuff, too... I haven't had an issue so far, I should prolly tweak my settings a bit, get closer to the break-even (this year i got 3K back, the smallest refund I've had in years...) so I'm getting better at it... just so leery of the thought of paying taxes out of paycheck all year and then getting stuck with a tax bill at the end of the year as well... yeah, yeah I know about the free gubmint money and all, but it just galls me to think that a minor thing like an extra "1" on a W-4 can have me throwing a big pile o'money at uncle Sam at the end of the year instead of the opposite. -- will "If my life weren't funny, it would just be true; and that would just be unacceptable." - Carrie Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Deploy Web Applications Quickly across the enterprise with ColdFusion MX7 & Flex 2.
