Well this was a very awesome weekend to say the least.

Thursday my daughter and I went to Fan Fest at California Motor Speedway and
bought some nice NASCAR gear and got autographs as well as watching driver
interviews.

Saturday we went back to the Speedway and watched the Metal Mulisha perform
some very impressive stunts with their dirt bikes. Flips, twists,
superman's, cliffhangers and the like. After that was the Busch race. It was
a good race and we had a great time. After the race, my mom, step-father,
sister and I got to partake in the Richard Petty Driving Experience. We got
to take 4 laps in an actual (although modified to accommodate 2 persons,
driver and passenger) Nextel Cup car. I rode in the 01 Army car since I am
in the military. Man was that every the thrill of a lifetime. Going over 160
MPH around a two mile track gives me a whole new level of respect for the
sheer athleticism of these drivers.

Sunday was Chalet Village day where we got to meet drivers, go to the pits
and garage. That was such a cool experience. Those cars are so impressive.
After the pit visit it was back to the grandstand where we watched the
Nextel Cup race. Man was that an exciting race. Not as exciting as Daytona,
but exciting none the less. My driver did not do too well (Greg Biffle) and
the day did have it's disappointments in my sisters driver (Jr), and my
daughters driver (Kasey Khane) blowing engines. My mom's driver, Kevin
Harvick had a great race until 7 laps to go when he got a flat and that put
him from a possible win to 17th place. Still we all had a great time as we
got to spend time being together as a family.

Just wanted to share my fun weekend with you all. Hope you all had a great
one as well. And if there are any Matt Kenseth fans, congratulations on
winning the Busch and Cup races this weekend.
