I got mine at MacMall.com and they have lots of promotions right now
so that might help with the price. I tried them all out and am
confident I picked the right one: not too big (17" is referred to as
the cafe tray) and not too small. It's worth the extra bucks to get
the Pro, but I got the slower processor. No concerns with that choice
yet.

I got the glossy screen (vs. matte). Big controversy here, but the
glossy is the way to go for me. It does reflect lights, but a simple
screen tilt usually fixes that and even without it just doesn't bug me
that much. The richness of the display and the ability to use it in
direct sunlight were the sale for me. The matte is useless in direct
Sun, but the glossy is just fine.

My wife, btw, could careless about looks (which is why she married me)
and only likes functionality. She has *never* liked Macs due to the
ExcelMac-is-not-exactly-the-same-as-ExcelPC.

Well, as soon as I walked away she was doing taxes on it and basically
tied it up for a whole day. I asked her why she wasn't using the PC
laptop and she replied that it sucked compared to the MacBook since
she could work so much faster on the Mac. She was running Office apps
in Vista and browsers in Mac. High praise for Mac IMO.

Anyway, I finally feel like I have a 21st century PC now. Makes my PC
laptops feel like dinosaurs.
