Assuming this is all true, no need to worry: hybrids are on the way out. Mostly because you can't justify the premium in gas savings. E.g., it takes about 8 years to justify the extra cost up front. Toyota is slashing prices and can afford too, using the Prius as a loss-leader for the technology. GM, Ford, etc, can't.
