Yep. And here in Mass, they use your ssn for your drivers licence number, which is freely available in many traffic related court docs, and many state data feeds.
I insisted, and had to wait 2 weeks, that they use some other number on my driver's license. Of course, whenever I get stopped (has happened a few times, never even got a warning), they at first think my license is fake, and make me site for a half hour or so while it works its way through the channels and they prove I am legit.
