See, I've almost given up editing home video on the pc just because of the level of frustration windows solutions cause.
With video editing, windows becomes one of the shakiest platforms around...and that's been my experience with 5 different packages. WMM, Studio 9 & 10, Ulead, and a couple of others I can't remember the names. I've never been able to produce 1 full dvd without several lockups. .....and I really haven't played any games on the pc since Diablo II on the pc. With kids around, it's always better with a console. The only reason I've been sticking with pc's is because my company upgrades every 2 years and sends the old pc's to the employees homes. (Very sweet deal) My next machine (that I pay for) will be a Mac.
