My Spare computer is a 2ghz with 1 gig of ram and an 80 gig drive. It isn't
the best computer in the world, but it isn't bad. I don't know what your
loaded macbook has. I'm sure it a shrine to be worshiped.

I use my spare for testing applications and running batch jobs I don't want
on my main desktop. I do things like install beta software or new versions
so I don't put something on my desktop only to watch it crash on everything.
