not really. Rodney King was a while ago now and afaik the underlying issues 
with the northern suburbs have not been addressed. I'm not defending the riot 
-- just saying that it was totally predictable. Turnstile jumping is, or at 
least was, quite common, and there were less volatile places to crack down on 
it.
