which is kinda my point.

Actually mine is more that whore actually does carry a sting especially for
younger women. And yes, hip-hop has a lot to answer for in this regard. But how
can you be a white talk show host and not know that derogatory references to
blackness sound different if you are white? I doubt there'd be this outcry if a
black rap star had said it, and yes that's wrong. It's also however plain
stupid for a white celebrity to say something like that and not realize it
would sound like he was saying they are ho's *because* their hair is nappy.

Side note as to context -- someone else first used the word ho, no idea who he
is or what color his skin is. Then Imus chines in and says yes, nappy-headed
ho's, like the two naturally would go together.

::shrug::

I agree that we are becoming a culture of the offended. But I'm kinda glad
something was said, lest teenage girls think being good at sports makes them a
ho.

And yes they do care very much about such perceptions. My daughter passed up
the sparring competition at the nationals because she did not want to be seen
as a bitch. The girl who won it consistently took second place to my daughter
in the regionals.

My take, fwiw.
