I hadn't looked at Galil configurations since the mid-eighties, and I was going 
by the caliber, which the 5.56mm isn't a sniping round by any stretch of the 
imagination.  The SNR might *look* like a sniper rifle, but the ballistics of 
the cartridge don't bear it out.

It looks like the Galat'z would be considered a "real" sniper rifle because it 
fires a real cartridge (same one we use in our M40).  I love the .308 
Winchester cartridge (sorry for the civvy-talk).  It just fires so flat and 
sounds so good.  Feels right in your hand when you load it.  I had a HK G3 
(actually the civilian variant) once.  I should have never let it go...
