Yeah - I don't even bother with them anymore for more things. The European
and Australian partners show things much more regularly: via Usenet we've
already seen the series finale of "Stargate" and the season finale of
"Atlantis" - they actually show them in order without weird three-month
gaps.

Too true.

It didn't help that during the breaks they refused to show reruns (which the
fans would actually watch) and instead fill in the slot with tripe (which
forced the fans to find, and often get hooked on, other shows).

He is great - but the show is pretty good in general. They didn't fall into
the "must stand alone" disease that kills a lot of spin-offs (where the
spin-off seems unable to even mention the parent show). The story arcs are
"realistic" (within the framework of the show).

McKay is great - but only because the show is good. There's nothing sadder
than a great character on a crappy show. I'm sure there are better examples
but Tom Poston played a great character - the clown in the closet - on a
dumb-ass NBC show called "Committed". It got to the point that we'd just
fast forward the show until we saw him.
