Adaptation isn't evolution, Humans adapt, our bodies have changed over time based on where we have lived and things we do.
Evolution creates new species, not just modifications of existing ones. It is new chromosomes, new genetics, creating a completely different being that leaves behind the old form completely. I've read Scientific American, it is pretty cool.
