Do you have any Idea what's going on in Iraq right now?

Look into IRMO and the PRT program. State is basically running the show as
far as reconstruction, infrastructure and government is concerned.

We are certainly not in only one city, while there is a big push to secure
Bagdad it isn't the only security operation going on in the country by a
long shot.

What is the foreign policy we are currently pursuing? Stability and
security. Training the IP and IA so they can relieve us on operations, and
it's working. The Iraqis are fielding units, units that are actually able
to do, and are doing, some of the work now.

It takes time to rebuild a police force and military from the ground up, and
too teach these soldiers and cops how to act in a civilized manner.

Progress towards what? Despite the fact that nobody can articulate
it, let's just speculate at some foreign policy initiatives that Bush
could be pursuing:

(P1.) Fight the terrorists in Iraq so we don't have to fight them in Iowa.
(Q1.) Then wouldn't we want to stay in Iraq even if they ask us
to leave? They're our terrorist wall so we can't leave, right?

(P2.) Spread democracy to the Middle East
(Q2.) Then why do we have troops in only Iraq, and then shouldn't
the State Department run the show? And wouldn't we want more allies
than Britain (who's leaving)?

(P3.) Fight for a United Iraq.
(Q3.) Why would we want that?

In the end we've got a region that's full of people who don't want to
be a united country, but we're forcing them too while providing
security in their major city. What's the benefit to that again?
