The inability to properly end a great story seems to be a common problem,
even among the best.

My favorite writer, Stephen King, is notorious for terrible endings...even
in the books themselves (not just movies). He tells an amazing story, but
the stories don't usually lend themselves to a neat, tidy, ending. But King
usually tries to provide one anyway, and it just comes across as contrived.
