See, you'd think that but there is actually a Catholic bible that is different (has more books and adds verses to some others) when it comes to the Old Testament. Additionally Catholics hold a number of beliefs that are different from protestants: 1. A person can pray to a saint and ask for intercession on their behalf. The prayers of the saints are closer to God and therefore more likely to be answered. 2. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was born and ascended to heaven (instead of dying) as a virgin. Prayers to her are thought to be whispered into the ear of Jesus. 3. The Holy Church was founded by Peter, the first Pope, who was told by Jesus, "You are my rock, on you I will build my church." Any break from that rock is blasphemy. 4. There are seven sacraments, 5 of which define a true child of the church - Baptism, Confirmation, Communion, Reconciliation, Matrimony, Holy Orders (Priesthood) and Healing (or Anointing of the Sick). 5. The Pope is Christ's Vicar on Earth, the elected descendant of Peter and the voice of God on Earth. In short, Catholicism is a different religion than Protestant Christianity - even the military recognizes that and has different types of chaplains. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Upgrade to Adobe ColdFusion MX7 Experience Flex 2 & MX7 integration & create powerful cross-platform RIAs http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=RVJQ Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:238025 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
