Hm... I would think that there would be a lot of other factors at
play. My best friend is overweight. But, she's not into doing
triathlons, either. So, I don't think her weight affects me because
I'm independent enough to do my own thing. I think I'd be much more
likely to be influenced by my husband, since we share at least one
meal together every day. I also think stage of life would have a lot
of influence. In college, I was much more apt to spend tons of time
hanging out with friends. Now, between work and family and general
busy-ness, I'm lucky to actually see my best friend once a week or
every other week.
