It's a really hard comparison to make. It's like comparing a Mercedes to a
BMW, they both do the same thing, CF might have the faster engine, but ASP
can instantiate ADSI...the differences are not that big, the choice depends
more on the developer and the platform that anything else.
I'd say the areas where CF wins hands down are the debugging,
administration, and the shallow learning curve, as of version 5 speed,
development time, an awesome IDE, and included modules (wddx, ftp, pop3,
smtp...).

ASP supports multiple standard languages. Any experienced developer can
learn the handful of ASP objects and be productive probably quicker than
they would be with CF.
ADO's power blows away cfquery, no competition there.
ASP VB code can be compiled to an executable in cases where better
performance is needed.
ASP developers have full access to a huge library of prebuilt COM objects
too (if cfobject wasn't broken, this would be a wash...).

Of course all of this changes with ASP.Net / CF MX, both are much more
powerful and faster than the previous versions.
