standardized on Thinkpads at work was because of all the problems we
had with Dell laptops.  From flimsy plastic hinges on the lcd's to the
keyboards going out, to flaky drives, we just never had good luck with
Dell's......and we tried for several years.

Construction wise, it seems the MacBook is more in line with the
Thinkpad which we usually spend about 1800 ~ 2400 a piece.

The only thing we buy from Dell nowadays are the desktops since they
are pretty inexpensive and we can work on them relatively easy....and
we have to occasionally.
