The SLI would be way, WAY down the line when I try to squeeze another
year out of the system.  By then, there will probably be a better single
card to upgrade to so it's a moot point.  Unless I went SLI with THAT
card... ;)

I believe so - 32 Bit OSes can only address 4 Gig total: BIOS + RAM +
Video
memory.

Of course there are two things here:

1) If you get an 8800 768MB video card there's NO CONCEIVABLE REASON
that
you'd ever need to do SLI.  That card's a monster!  It'd be like
inviting
Mecha-Godzilla to make Tokyo even flatter!  ;^)

2) If you can afford dual 8800's then just splurge and dual boot between
a
32 bit and a 64 bit OS.  Your goal here will be to use the 64 Bit OS as
much
as you can (really - especially with new hardware - they're very close
to
prime time ready) but have the 32 Bit one for backup - eventually you'll
just abandon the 32 Bit OS.
