First time that has happened in the modern era of baseball (since 1900).
Apparently some team scored over 30 back in like 1897....Chicago Spiders or
some things.

So yes, that is indeed some kind of record. ESPN did some extrapolation to
other sports to try and put this into perspective. They said this was akin
to scoring about 227 points in a regulation NFL game.

Yikes.
