I just got mine on Monday........I'm in love with this machine. It's the only machine that I've owned that can stream HD video (1080i) from my network tuner and not even flutter when checking email and surfing the web. My thinkpad would display jerky video even when there were no other applications running. Even my desktop doesn't display the video near as smooth.
Now, the downside is that I feel like I'm a complete newb. I'm downloading software and realizing that it mounts the archives in the filesystem. I've still not figured out if I can unmount them...I'll get brave enough soon. But, having the underpinnings of unix is very, very sweet. I love having the power of top, grep, and all those other little utilities that you had to give up. Oh yeah, the other thing is the ctrl and alt aren't treated the same as the windows world....I can't help using ctrl-c for copy and get frustrated when it doesn't work as expected. I really like playing with the lighting feature.....cover up the light sensors and the screen dims....move your hands a little to give it a little light and the screen brightens a smidge...not all the way, just a smidge. It really is like driving a cadillac or a lexas vs .......well, I'll let you all fight that out. On 8/28/07, Charlie Griefer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I would definitely consider a mac.
