My girlfriend went to Sport Chalet out here in California last night. She
took her bicycle in to get it repaired. She was quoted $30 total (which
included labor) to replace the rim and fix something else on it. She went
back to pick it up and the manager said that it was quoted wrong and it was
going to be $62. I mean, that is over a 100% increase in the original
quote. I understand a couple of dollars.

Once she left the store with the $30 price quote, nobody from the store
contacted her about increasing the price. She came back later that night
only for the manager to say no.

She has the paper work with the original quote of $30, and the receipt in
which she paid $62. I was not there, so I found this out last night. I am
going to go back there tonight and find out way this occurred.

My question, does this sound illegal to anyone?

If we do not get $32 back, I am going to complain to the Better Business
Bureau, stop payment on the check and write them one for $30, and stand in
front of the store with a sign that says "Sports Chalet screwed us
over. Ask us how."
