That was the point of America dude- not "democracy", per-say, as in, it's not supposed to be majority rules (which is sorta what's been going on, or something). =]
The idea is, that even if you are not a big group, you've still got someone pulling for you, or whatnot. Compromise, and whatnot. We can have our cake and eat it too- there's no need to screw ourselves while doing it. It would be better to avoid the bloodshed, if you ask me, and just reinstate the ideals and ideas that make this country what it is. Teaching the constitution now is more of a history lesson- which does us little good-- There are plenty of great ideas, on paper, out there.
