I've used Pinnacle and liked it. I think the only thing I missed was the "photo show" stuff that's in Movie Maker (let's you create dramatic video presentations from stills - slow zooms and pans to music). But a newer version might very well do that as well. Also note that while XP Movie Maker won't let you burn a DVD of your video many DVD burning packages will. Nero is very popular and will let you create a DVD from your Movie Maker files. Not as nice as an all-in-one package but serviceable. Vista does this out of the box as well.
