Tactical is often a matter of subjectiveness. Just because you call it something doesn't mean it is so. > He's also the highest decorated marine and probably killed more people than > you know. Killed more people than I know? That speaks highly of him I suppose? Delightful. Pssst, you may not have learned this if you military time, but wars and battles are not supposed to be about killing people. They are supposed to be about accomplishing objectives. Any psycho can kill people. It takes much more understanding of tactics and nuance to achieve your military objectives. We've got absolute military superiority in the Middle East. Doesn't seem to have done us much good though, does it? That may, just may, be because our traditional military tools are not appropriate for the job there. Trying to hammer screws and all that. Some people in the military seem to recognize this and are actively working to rearrange the situation to make the military a more appropriate tool for the sorts of conflicts we seem to be getting in to. Publishing a new Counter Insurgency manual certainly seems like a good step in that direction and I hope it goes well. Please take a step back and spend more time considering what we actually want to accomplish and how best to do it rather than screaming for blood. Thanks.
