Ignoring the fact that the US Patent system is a joke... If the site is accurate, there is indeed a patent granted. However, it appears to be specific to distributing subscription data (ie newspaper, magazine, porn) to a wireless device based on non-personally identifying informaton. Which sounds a lot like a password, but....
