To an extent, scott....but I do think that histrionics or hyperbole meant to induce panic is a negative aspect of the GW movement that we see from time to time. When I hear people say the world will be one giant ocean in 20 years, or the planet will blow up in 50 years.....i feel my intelligence is being insulted.
These kinds of tactics are meant to win over stupid people who can be motivated with emotion sans reason.
