A friend found a dozen rev war muskets and other supplies in the wall
of his house.

That one I am jealous of.

Most of the mine just came from poking around as a kid. Suburbs/farm
country, bored out of my mind, so we always went off on "adventures",
and tried to find stuff.

We once found about 1000 1.5"x4'x8' slabs of slate in an abandoned
chicken farm. Those were heavy, but fun to build things with.

Of course, some of the stuff we "found" wasn't exactly lost.

Did you know it takes about 3 4x8 sheets of blue dow insulation per
120 pounds of person when building rafts? And that it gets waterlogged
and loses bouyancy after a few hours?
