I have never thought that hybrids were anything but a dead end for cars: they're expensive to develop, the batteries are full of chemicals and expensive to dispose of, and they don't really save that much on gas. On sailboats it's a totally different story - I'm all for them because props can charge the batteries not to mention solar. Don't get me wrong, Prii are cool, but why not beat their efficiency with proven technology that burns cleaner, requires no costly battery/motor, and has the fuel distribution network already in place? Plus with diesel you can have a torquey sporty car that still gets 50+ MPG now with more to come in the future. Audi's R10 Diesel won LeMans with the same engine technology! http://www.audi.com/audi/com/en2/experience/motorsport_events/Audi_R10_TDI.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Create robust enterprise, web RIAs.
