I think we would all be quite surprised at what the Production
companies and publishing firms demand of their stars.

Their PR Campaign managers etc. have them cast in a certain light. For
example whether Snoop Dogg wanted to just chill out and appear mild
mannered etc. in public he probably can't. That's not his image,
that's not what he's being paid for.
These guys, when they are in public, they are performers.

Even britney, or this new star Rihanna spoke in their early years
about how they had to act and dress in a manner that their companies
dictated and they were surprised by this.
Some artists hate that and rebel or leave. Others hate it, look at the
paycheck...and ask just how rough do I have to act, how much jewelry
do I have to wear, and what color do you want my hair. ^_^

I think it's only when they 'make it' and are independent that they
can afford to let down their guard and be themselves.

And when that happens, you might hear them say,"I'm finally making the
kind of music I want to make..."
.....and then sometimes those albums don't go platinum and the studio
might say "I told you so" ^_^.

I never think that any actor, singer, or anyone in the public light
day in and day out is anything like their public persona.
I don't think the general public will ever know what 'P Diddy' , or J
Lo, or George Clooney is really like.
