I did the telecommute thing for a while, and at first I loved it. It was a hell of a lot better than driving 40 miles to the train station, spending over an hour riding the train to LA, 20 minutes walking from the station to the office, then doing it all backwards coming home, and the drive home took twice as long as the drive to the station. Since I only have my cat at home, there were no distractions. I left the TV off and only played the radio, but after a while, I missed the human interaction. I missed being able to just roll the chair back a few feet and I can talk to my co-workers for a bit. I think the ideal situation would be to work from home 2-3 days a week and come into the office the others. But now since I only drive 5 miles each way to work, and I live in a rural area, I don't mine coming into the office. And the hours are great. 7:00 - 3:30, and I am home by 3:45 (4:00 if I have to stop at Stater Bros).
