I think many (if not most) retailers do this.  Like anything else, you
have to know what you're getting into.  Shop around, and if Overstock
has the best deal, they're a solid/reputable enough company to buy
from.  But yeah, don't just assume it's a great deal because the
ceramic dalmation that's marked down to $299.99 was originally priced
at $2299.99 :)
