I've not personally, but my mother swears by them. She's not had any problems that I know of. I don't know if your daughter is set on an iPod, but you might also look at the new Flash Zunes and the Sansa - both have more features, are getting excellent reviews and can much cheaper (much cheaper in the case of the Sansa).
