Would the following statement reasonably correct?
cf8 does 1 & 2 pretty well (it can do 3 as well but it would need some
'stretch'), both Flex2 and AIR supports all three and can do 3 with
less effort.
Another perspective
All these three products can perform all the above three functions pretty
well, the main difference is that both Flex and Air places high importance
in User Experience (UE).
Similarity between Flex 2 and AIR
As a platform to create RIA (Rich Internet Application), meaning,
strong in presentation including visualization.
The key difference between Flex 2 and AIR is that Flex 2 app is mostly
web app, which requires web server, application server and even database
server to support it depending on the nature of the app; its UA (User Agent) is
a web browser. On the other hand, AIR app is a compiled program, which, by
design, is to be run on desktop; it is a UA to an OS, be it Windows or Mac.
Correction? addition? subtraction? of the above would be very welcome.
Pointers to resources regarding the inter-relations among these three
products would be appreciated as well.
