[There may be spoilers for tonight's episode. I'm not sure.]

I was really enjoying tonight's episode. It was a really cool idea to have
him appear in a situation where just his appearance, his physical bulk,
would have a dramatic effect. Very cool.

The main plot was neat as well: the "butterfly effect" in action and all.

Then, and I know it's a peeve of mine, but why in blue fuck did they feel
they needed a friggin' fortune teller? It's just ridiculous - ESP, tarot
and astrology all in the same show and each one presented stupider than the
last!

Just really soured my opinion of the show. Why does every show I love need
to throw in crap when it's not needed?

I mean we have "Lost" with psychics and voodoo magic and "Pushing Daisies"
with homeopathic medicine.

These are generally clever, well-written shows and falling back on these
trite clichés to bolster, however lightly, these misconceptions always
strikes me as extremely lazy writing.

Just disappointed. Just like when they started to get all metaphysical in
"Quantum Leap"... it doesn't ruin the show or anything, but personally I
lose some respect for it.

Hey... I already admitted it's a peeve. ;^)
