There are a lot of numbers out there on nuclear. GE predicts that its third generation design can produce energy at roughly$1,400 per KWh, cheaper once the design is in production. Here is a site from U. of Melbourne with some interesting comparison info for various technologies:
http://nuclearinfo.net/Nuclearpower/WebHomeCostOfNuclearPower Here is another Aussie site that compares US production costs for electricity from 1995-2005: http://www.uic.com.au/nip08.htm Here you can see that from a purely operating perspective, nuclear is our cheapest option, even cheaper than coal. The rub with nuclear is construction cost and government red tape. Both could be substantially reduced by GE's new design, which uses small uranium spheres for fuel rather than larger fuel rods. The new design produces energy more efficiently and is safer due to the smaller size of the fuel.
