"I recently had similar problems... turns out it was interference."

I have similar problems with my AT&T wireless router and the laptop. I am 95%
sure it is interference. First the laptop will always disconnect when the
cordless phone rings if they are in the same room and frequently even if they
are at opposite ends of the apartment. Secondly, other disconnects that occur
while the phone is not active' but when I look at the wireless network panel on
the laptop, I see quite of few 'available' networks within range. I surmise
that one or more of these are interfering.

Is this likely and if so, is there any easy way I can mitigate it?
