All spiders can bite and they usually do so for no good reason.

(I'm sensitive to spider bites and have had more than my share.... : ) )

Erika .. you wuss =-p

Our house gets invaded by wolf spiders every summer. My roomate freaks out
and drowns them in a puddle of raid. Later on, I come walking through the
kitchen barefoot and step in one of the puddles. that can't be good for me.
I told her all she has to do is call for me and I will catch them and throw
them out. But noooo .. she has to use the raid. I think she's trying to
poison me.

P.S. Tarantulas are just as apt to bite as spiders and vice-versa .. meaning
they won't unless you hurt them.

I do have a thing with bees though. They can fly and if you accidently piss
them off, they chase you and attack in numbers. So a spider bite you .. big
deal. But stir up a yellow jacket nest and woohoo doggie!!
