Long story short, I never did until a friend tricked me into showing up at the golf course, and I played my first round. I cannot explain it, I truly cannot, but man, it's a blast. As Tony said, it's you vs. everyone and everything else. As for that hole-in-one, I got lucky as hell on a Par 3 once. I lost the ball off the tee, so I didn't understand why the guys I was playing with got all excited and started jumping up and down, high-fiving me and all that. I figured I must've really shanked it and hit the club house or something. They're like "Dood, you frequin got it in the cup!!" As bad as I suck at the game, it only takes one damn good shot per round to make you _want_ to come back. That day, Hole 9 was my one shot.
