I cannot even add one thing to Tony's post. He said everything I was thinking, spot on. Great great post. Only thing I disagreed with him on was the sex part. :)
But yeah, give it a go. I mean at least you've tried it. For me, besides what Tony said: I love the challenge for myself and the comraderie with playing with friends. I'm a pretty natural putter, routinely sinking pretty long putts, usually get a read on the green fairly quickly (but I always putt last in a tourney to give us an edge), but I love working on my short game.
