Thanks for leaving aside the fact that I misspelled Mormon (egad). >From what I have read, it goes a lot further than just "matters of faith", since faith and church are central to their lives.
I don't think she _had_ to support Romney. But she may have felt she needed to do it to be true to her own beliefs, and to herself. For which I do admire her. But Mormons do have support mechanisms, both active and organized, to help each other in a multitude of ways. I am certainly not complaining about it, or suggesting it is in any way wrong. I think it is great. It seems to be a slightly more organized, and more committed, version of what all churches, and all organizations do. Similar to what happens here in Boston with many Chinese and Thai and Pakistani extended families. This is a pretty good article that touches on this idea: http://www.religionandsocialpolicy.org/news/article.cfm?id=2606 I wasn't surprised by her support. I was just shocked by her methods. And meanness.
