yeah, if I was a school administrator I'd hate my job. On one hand you have people complaining that a schools policy is too strict (not trying to call you out Dana). On the other hand, you have people complaining that there's not enough control in the classroom and the schools needs to exert more authority.
The teachers are trying to get rid of a distraction in the classroom. 9 times out of 10 if the phone is given back to the parents, the thing's gonna turn back up in class the next day. So, do you want to spend extra money to install detection equipment at the door so that all cell phones can be gathered up each day and then pay someone to distribute them back at the end of the day. Or say, maybe you'd like your child's phone to be confiscated and kept so that the teachers can get back to the business of teaching.
