Weekly standard? I've never been to its site but your tone on it makes me want to at least look at it. No, I'm looking at other information including Wright's own speeches (and I'm skipping over any Farakan stuff as you seem to think it has no meaning).
"In sermons and interviews, Dr. Wright has equated Zionism with racism and Israel with South Africa under its previous policy of apartheid." It looks like Zionists allow other races into their country but no Jew is allowed into the open and non-racist countries around them. And the same applies to the BS that Israel is anything like apartheid. It's a bad word applied to Israel to demonize them with no connection to the truth in the least. But who cares about the truth when a good soundbite comes along. "In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01," Wright wrote in a church-affiliated magazine. "White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns." So Arab terrorist are automatically considered people of color to him? How does a terrorist attack on America have anything to do with black concerns, other than the black victims of the attack? Right off the bat this is trying to push race, specifically afro-Americans, into someplace where they are not a factor. And there's the separatist part of his theology which, if black was replaced with white, would be racist in anyones book: http://youtube.com/watch?v=OZXeNk7H3u4 http://youtube.com/watch?v=e8YmQUqj15g http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/michelle_barack_obama/2008/02/21/74416.html http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/Obama_Church_Racism/2008/01/07/62285.html Point is, the guy's not a friendly, lets get the country together type of guy. And this is who Obama turns to for spiritual guidance. On Sun, Mar 2, 2008 at 1:29 PM, Dana <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > He's been reading the Weekly Standard it seems.
