I called Verizon, they said nothing is blocked. The only thing that I can think is that the router does not pass Protocol 47 traffic.
I'm going to try the DD-WRT suggestion, turns out it'll run on the wireless router that I had in place initially. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for the suggestion!
