Most aircards can do both EVDO and 1x. 1x is the older slower network.
The dialing application ALLTEL uses shows the status of the connection
(what system it's hitting, and speed up and down).
It mighgt be that your card is not hitting a EVDO network, perhaps the
older 1x?

Mine wont stay on EVDO, as I said earlier.. For some reason..
