You can't argue with the savings, but I do wonder about the shown
values.  I've run the same calculations with my friend's Prius and the
differential is greater, about 10% off.

My car that shows 16mpg is really getting about 18 and runs better
mileage than shown.  So I was wondering if Toyota was cooking the
books a bit.

But either way, 50 mpg kicks arse.
