Did I already tell you about my garbage situation?

A couple of weeks ago, we get a memo from the apartment management saying we
need to go pick up a (free) large blue recycling bin.

We now need to recycle. There is a significant fine for getting caught not
recycling. So I break my garbage down into household waste, cardboard and
paper, and bottles and cans.

I then take all this down to the dumpster, and throw the waste into the
dumpster door labeled "household waste". I then walk to the other side of
the dumpster, and throw the cardboard and bottles into the door marked
"Recyclables". THE OTHER DOOR OF THE SAME DUMPSTER.

I watched the garbage truck for a few days. Sure enough, the whole dumpster
gets dumped into the truck in one motion, and the garbage is mingled in the
truck.

I just love stupid regulation.
